How healthcare frontliners take a break while wearing PPE looks heartbreaking

The COVID-19 pandemic is taking a toll on many, especially on our healthcare frontliners.

With the number of positive cases ballooning every day in the Philippines, and more healthcare professionals getting infected, the medical community is concerned that our healthcare system might collapse soon.

With this, they even called for a timeout and the government listened to this, which is why a 14-day Modified Enhanced Community (mECQ) was imposed starting August 4.

But what captured our attention as of late is how heartbreaking our healthcare experts take a break when they can’t get out of their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suit.

The Philippine General Hospital posted the distressing photo on Instagram below.

It reads, “Two of our PGH healthcare workers resting in front of PGH ward 4. ? The sign to the left says ‘remain in your PPEs’ Photo by 1st year GS Resident, Dr. Jay Almora”

As of posting, the Philippines has more than 113,000 COVID-19 cases, 66,049 have recovered, and 2,115 have died from the coronavirus.
