The International Balloon and Music Festival (IBMF) in Lubao – which was supposed to be held from April 3 to April 5, 2020 – has been cancelled because of the outbreak of the coronavirus disease. In China, the death toll has already risen to more than 2,400, while the people under investigation for infection in the Philippines has reached more than 500.
In a statement posted during the weekend, they explained that the safety and comfort of their guests has always been their priority. Because of this, and in light of the recent health concerns surrounding the COVID-19, the organizers have decided to cancel the event for all three days. They have apologized for the cancellation and have promised a “bigger and brighter” festival in 2021.
