If you’re a fan of the books or the games of ‘The Witcher’, then you probably have a lot of feelings when it comes to one particular character: Vesemir. (And if you don’t… HOW CAN YOU BE SO HEARTLESS? Kidding.) Well, it has recently been revealed that two Hollywood actors were originally approached to play Vesemir; and it is breaking our hearts to learn that neither of them will be taking on the role.
First up: Michael Keaton!
I mean, who wouldn’t want to see the star quality of Michael Keaton on the show? Plus, he was once Batman! And Henry Cavill, who plays Geralt of Rivia, is Superman… That’s just me trying to make extra connections to convince you that it would’ve been cool to see him play Vesemir.
Then there’s Mads Mikkelsen:
Of course, we love Mads, as well. While some people might argue that he’s a tad too good-looking for the role of Vesemir, I’m sure he could’ve done really well. Sadly, he passed on it, too.
Since then, it has already been announced that Kim Bodnia will officially be taking on the role of Vesemir in the series:
