Hold the Door! “Rave of Thrones” with Game of Thrones’ Hodor, Kristian Nairn

If you are a fan of Game of Thrones and are up to speed with the recent season, seeing Kristian Nairn aka Hodor is a big deal. Kristian attended the Toy Convention last June 10, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center.

Rave of Thrones

The party “Rave of Thrones” was thrown the night after the ToyCon in The Palace Pool Club. Being a Game of Thrones fan, I was just excited to see anything or anyone that is related to the popular show.  The party started at around 10; people were chillin’ as you would in The Palace Pool Club.  At around 12:45AM, everyone started chanting “Hodor! Hodor! Hodor!”  His crew was busy on stage setting up his equipment.

At exactly 1AM, everyone, including myself, were up front near the stage, shouting “Hodor!” frantically, welcoming DJ Kristian Nairn! The almost 7 foot tall DJ was visible even from a far. He is larger than life! He has a really friendly face especially if you know him as Hodor. He has a permanent grin, star tattoos on the side of his face, and you see the passion when he plays his music. You see this gentle giant bouncing, shuffling, singing along while fiddling with knobs and console.

Rave of Thrones

At one point in the middle of his set, he started playing the soundtrack of Game of Thrones, Song of Fire and Ice. Everyone went crazy, humming along the song, waving their Hodor Pop Bobbleheads in the air while dancing to his music.  The effects were in full force with the giant screen, confetti, and pressurized smoke that got the crowd even more excited.

Here’s a video from the POV of DJ Kristian Nairn, posted on his instagram @kristiannairn. You’ll see me, my sister Lilliane, and my friend Zara on the lower right jumping!

Great night at @palacepoolclub Manila 🙂 #dj #house #raveofthrones can u spot urself ?
