It’s been a whole year since Disney dropped the news that a new “Phineas and Ferb” movie was coming. And if their Instagram post today is any indication, it’s safe to say that the wait is finally almost over!
Disney released two new images from its upcoming Disney+ original film “Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” which showed Candace, her two brothers, and the whole gang seemingly singing a song while on the wreckage of what might be one of Phineas and Ferb’s wacky inventions.
According to the official synopsis, the movie will follow the two kids as they travel across the galaxy to rescue their older sister, “who has been abducted by aliens and has found utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers.”
What’s most exciting is that the original cast will return to voice their characters, namely Ashley Tisdale, Vincent Martella, Caroline Rhea, Dee Bradley Bake, Alyson Stoner, Maulik Pancholy, Bobby Gaylor, Olivia Olson, and Tyler Mann.
Although production was momentarily halted due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, final touches on the film were reportedly made at home which means that the movie is still scheduled to premiere this summer!
“Phineas and Ferb” ended in June 2015 after a successful 4-season run. It will forever be cherished by fans for creating unique characters, memorable songs, genuinely funny gags.
