Here’s Your First Look at the Live-Action Adaptation of ”One Piece”

The massive and detailed set of the live-action adaptation of “One Piece” on Netflix had just been revealed! Lead actor Iñaki Godoy who will be playing “Luffy” along with showrunners Steve Maeda and Matt Owens introduced the behind-the-scenes video. According to them, the live-action manga will be shot in South Africa where the life-sized boats were built.

Some of the iconic pirate ships featured were Miss Love Duck, The Going Merry, and the Baratie. See them in the video below!

Netflix also announced the addition of six new cast members along with the sneak peek. They are Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots as Kaya, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff, Steven Ward as Mihawk, and Chioma Umeala as Nojiko.

Its first season will reportedly have ten episodes, but the release date is yet to be announced.

“One Piece” was originally released in 1997. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy along with his friends in a quest to find the world’s greatest treasure and become king of the pirates.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the manga series, is one of the adaptation’s executive producers.
