Just last week, YG Entertainment announced a call for a global audition for the next idol. The pre-application period was supposed to end on April 9, 2023, but the South Korean music label closed it earlier than expected.

According to their Facebook page, “Unfortunately, due to an exceedingly high number of applicants, we must close the pre-application submission period earlier than expected.”

Previously, they announced that they are open to walk-ins but that option has now been retracted. The agency said, “We kindly ask for your understanding as this decision was made for your safety and to ensure a smooth audition process.”

They did, however, extend the application to one more day, and will now be held from April 15 to 16 at Zero Studio in Quezon City. All registered participants will receive an individual audition time by email in advance.

The music label announced that they are holding a global audition in Manila for aspiring idols.

To join, the candidate must be born between 2004 to 2012. They must select from one category: vocal, rap, dance, or appearance.

YG Entertainment is the agency that manages top K-pop groups like BLACKPINK, Winner, Treasure, and G-Dragon. Their former talents include iKON, 2NE1, and Epik High.
