Here’s why the stars wore blue ribbons to the ABS-CBN Ball 2018

If you’re like most of the showbiz-watching and fashion-following crowd, you spent most of last night and this morning ogling at the looks at the ABS-CBN Ball. At the ball, stars turned up decked out in their most glamorous couture. Heck, some even took risks that didn’t pay off, but it’s nice to see everyone in formalwear.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed many of the stars wearing blue ribbons over their chest, and in case you were wondering why, it’s to raise awareness for child abuse. The blue ribbon is a symbol used to represent the issue since 1989, when American grandmother Bonnie Finney began wearing and using it after her grandchild died at the hands of his mother’s abusive boyfriend.

The ABS-CBN Ball aims to raise funds to relaunch the Bantay Bata Children’s Village, located in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
