Nearly 20 years since she lost her ex-boyfriend, Rico Yan, to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis, actress Claudine Barretto still finds it difficult to move on from him.
She opened up about why she still commemorates his death anniversary and birthday year after year in a vlog posted by her good friend, Janelle Jamer, last February 4.
“Bakit hanggang ngayon, sobrang apektado ka pa rin kay Rico Yan? Dahil ba mahal mo pa siya o mayroong parte sa puso mo na mayroon kang pagsisisi?” her friend asked.
“I think both,” Claudine admitted. “Mahal ko pa rin siya. Hindi nawawala ‘yon. I think hindi nawawala ‘yon. Kapag namatay na ‘yung tao [hindi] nawawala ‘yung pagmamahal mo.”
“Kahit hindi na kami, nandoon pa rin. Lalo pa yatang lumalabas kung ano ang nararamdaman mo towards the person kapag nawala na ‘yung tao,” she added. “Yes, mayroon akong pagsisisi na sana mas matagal ko siyang nakasama, sana nandoon ako nung nangyari ‘yung dapat sana ay hindi nangyari.”
Claudine also said in the vlog that she has been ready for romance to come into her life for a long time now.
“Kaya lang wala pa lang talagang dumarating so hindi ko rin kinukulit si God. Kapag dumating eh darating,” she shared.
Rico passed away in March 2002 during his sleep. Since then, Claudine posts tributes to the late actor on her Instagram account.
The two starred in the hit series “Mula Sa Puso” and “Saan Ka Man Naroroon” as well as movies “Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita” and “Got 2 Believe.”
