Here’s what it’s like to bike around BGC

bgc bike ride 14

Inspired by a Reddit post, I took my bike to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and did my own bike tour before 2017 ended.

Full disclosure: I took my bike there in a car and just rode it around BGC. I wasn’t that confident yet to ride it on highways like C5 or EDSA, and I think I will need more protective gears to do that. I’m not sure if there are bike rentals in BGC, if you know any, please share with them with us.

I biked around BGC and visited some of the murals located mostly in the central area of BGC. I was nursing a sprained ankle then so I was somewhat limited by it, which is why I just stayed around the central area. I would want to see more murals and other art installations but my ankle started acting up a bit. I will most definitely do it again. Maybe, next time it will be with someone who likes biking too.

I think doing this with a friend or your SO might even be a nice and not-so-common date idea. Also, BGC has a smorgasbord of restaurants you can eat after a day of biking.

Bring sunscreen.

Like the Reddit post, of course, I took photos. Here they are.

It was a fun experience but please if you plan to do this, be responsible bikers.

Bike on designated areas only and learn to share the road.

Follow the traffic lights. I biked around BGC before New Year’s Day so it was somewhat of a ghost town. The situation may be different on a regular day as there are more people and cars there. Please always err on the side of caution.

Maybe bike on a weekend.

And don’t forget to have fun. ๐Ÿ™‚
