Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the 3 Daughters in the ‘Inuyasha’ Sequel

It’s official, Inuyasha fans: a sequel is DEFINITELY coming!

This classic series made headlines over the weekend after a poster showing warring siblings Inuyasha and Sesshomaru together with three new characters was revealed online. Titled “Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogi Soushi,” the new project was reportedly going to be about the adventures of the brothers’ daughters.

Here’s everything you need to know about them!

First, we have Sesshomaru’s twin daughters, Towa and Setsuna, who would be separated from each other by a forest fire. Towa would then fall into a time warp in the magical Tree of Ages that will bring him to the modern times where he will be adopted by Kagome’s younger brother Souta (which explains why she took Kagome’s surname).

Meanwhile, Setsuna, who was left behind in the Sengoku Period, will eventually grow up to become a youkai (demon) exterminator despite being half-demon herself.

Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, Moroha, will also grow up to become a youkai exterminator and earn the nickname “Moroha the Youkai Slayer.” She has also lived alone at a young age and knows little about her parents.

The three will all meet up one day after the time warp reopens, 10 years since the separation of Towa and Setsuna, and will then embark on a grand adventure together.

Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogi Soushi will go straight to TV, with no manga version confirmed. Terou Sato, the episode director of the original series and of the Inuyasha: The Final Act movie will return to helm the project. Animation Studio Sunrise will also return to lead the animation.

The new anime is scheduled for release in Autumn 2020, but it’s unclear if it will be push backed amid delayed productions caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
