One of the things we’re excited about every time a new Pokémon game is released is the new characters that we’ll get to know and love. And while I will always be loyal to my OG fave Meowth, there’s a new Pokémon that’s ready to capture my heart: Lechonk.
It is one of the new Pokémon released in Scarlet and Violet, and here’s what we know about them:
Lechonk is a normal-type hog Pokémon that stands 1’8″ and weighs 22.5 lbs. Some of its abilities include Aroma Veil and Gluttony.
The official website describes it as a “gourmand with an excellent nose,” saying, “Lechonk uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the most fragrant wild grasses and the richest Berries. As a result of its dining habits, it has come to radiate an aroma resembling herbs that bug Pokémon dislike.”
It is timid and fainthearted, but also strong. The website adds, “If attacked by an opponent and startled, it will charge forward in a panic. It may appear fat at first glance, but in reality, the Pokémon’s body is mostly muscle built by constantly walking around in search of food.”
Um, relate.
Fans have speculated that Scarlet and Violet will be set in a fictional version of the Iberian Peninsula, a region primarily divided between Spain and Portugal.
Scarlet and Violet will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.
