One of the most comforting aromas for us is the smell of warm apple pie. Thankfully, there are many places in Manila that sell delicious pies.

Here are just some of them:

Wolfgang’s

Wolfgang’s is rated as one of the best steakhouses in New York. It has 21 branches worldwide, three of which are in the Philippines. Wolfgang’s prides itself on its line of renowned USDA Prime Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, and award-winning wine cellar. That’s not all. Their desserts are also delicious, including its Apple Strudel. It is served with the restaurant’s homemade schlag (whipped cream).

They serve their own version of American Apple Pie, with a sugar-free version for those watching their sugar intake.

Le Rêve Pâtisserie by Angeli Nasser

Le Rêve, which is French for “the dream,” offers specialty pastries and food that features French techniques with a touch of local flavor. The chef, Angeli Nasser, studied French Pastries at Ferrandi-Paris in France so you know you’re getting the real deal. Le Rêve Pâtisserie started as a home-based business until it opened its physical store in Pasig. There are a lot of treats to choose from and the French Apple Crumble is highly-recommended. It has thinly-sliced apples coated in cinnamon, layered on a crust, and topped with crumble. You can order it as a 4″ pie or an 8″ version that’s good for six to eight people.

Its Apple Caramel Crumble Pie has cooked apple filling with cinnamon on a pastry crust and topped with sugar butter crumbs.

Aside from their famous pie, Banapple also serves cakes, cheesecakes, and home-cooked style hot meals like the well-loved chicken parmigiano, lasagna roll-ups, and hickory-smoked country ribs as well as sandwiches, pasta, and pancakes.

One of their bestsellers is their Apple Pie, which puts choice apples in delicious caramel sauce on a flaky buttery crust. It’s then topped with a streusel (a crumbly topping of flour, butter, and sugar) walnut crust. Try it as a box of four 3″ pies, or get it in 6″, 7″, or 9″ variants.

Apple Linario’s Apol Pie

Sherry Lyn Gonzales-Apolinario has always been an apple pie lover. “It’s a sure-shot perk-me-upper when I’m stressed,” she explains. “It just delights me every time.”

Apple-Linario’s Apol Pie started from an intense craving in 2020 when the malls were closed and it was impossible for Sherry to find any apple pie. Out of desperation (and despite not being a baker), she decided to make one herself. The first attempt wasn’t perfect, but she got inspired to do better. After doing her research and asking her mother-in-law’s baker friend for tips, she kept baking until she was satisfied.
