Hello, Gourmand Levels up the Brownie Experience with Unique Flavors

If you love brownies, then you’re going to love what Hello, Gourmand has to offer… which is, well, brownies. BUT they don’t just offer regular brownies. They offer brownie flavors that you might not have tasted before (I know I haven’t) and that will really level up the whole “brownie experience”.

Cyndrick is a Filipino who has spent more than a decade in New York working in some of the best restaurants there, including Eleven Madison Park, Gordon Ramsay at The London & Jean-Georges. Although he is classically trained in savory cooking, he admits that his love for sweets is INTENSE! Thus the birth of Hello, Gourmand.

Hello, Gourmand first launched its line of brownies on July 1, the master recipe of which is one that Cyndrick used to sell in New York City. “It’s a well-loved brownie recipe according to people who have had it in the neighborhood of SOHO/NOLITA, Manhattan,” he shares. The recipe may be straightforward, but it yields a super moist, melt-in-your-mouth-at-room-temperature-and-chewy/fudgy-when-chilled brownie.

The other three flavors were all “born in Manila”. To produce these brownies, Cyndrick only uses the best possible ingredients and a specific method of preparation. “My experience studying at The Culinary Institute of America and working in New York not only humbled me, but has also ingrained in me a work ethic that always strives for excellence and operate with uncompromising standards,” Cyndrick shares.

“In our case, we just converted everything that I used in New York into high quality Filipino ingredients,” he adds. “This is to support small businesses in the Philippines which is especially needed during these trying times.”

At the moment, Hello, Gourmand offers the following flavors:

The first base of their Signature Brownie is the mother recipe for all of the other flavors. Conversely, the PB&B Sandwich Brownies are a childhood favorite and were born out of Filipinos’ love for peanut butter. Saging na saba chips are added to them for a nice crunch.

Surprisingly, for someone like me who absolutely abhors most mint-related goodies, the Mint Condition Brownies are my favorites from their brownie line. They take me back to my childhood days when we lived in Europe and my dad would make us eat After Eight chocolates after dinner time. Those were literally the only mint-anything goodies that I actually liked, and that’s exactly what these Mint Condition Brownies taste like. So. Good.

Turkish Coffee, on the other hand, aims to take you to an exotic place. Since not a lot of people are familiar with cardamom; Hello, Gourmand only adds a subtle touch of it in their brownies so as not to overwhelm people. Sagada coffee beans are also added to them – shipped directly from Baguio and ground fresh, I might add. These brownies have a bit of texture to them, and are my second favorite because I loooooove coffee.

Hello Gourmand’s brownies are shelf stable for up to two weeks, but are best when consumed within a week (though they definitely won’t last that long if you’re a brownie lover).

You might think that brownies are all that Hello, Gourmand has to offer; but the truth is this is only part one of their phase 1 launch. They also plan on launching a savory line soon. We can’t wait!
