On Sunday, at Run United 1, this guy was spotted running with the participating crowd in the said event. Day Spotted PH captured this photo, which instantly went viral on social media.
According to pinoyfitness.com on Facebook:
Nakita nyo ba si “beggarunner” kahapon sa Run United 1? Rumor has it na muntik na sya hatakin ng mga marshals palabas ng race route, kaso lang may valid race bib siya.
Truth is, this beggar is actually a duathlete named Larry Ronquillo, who ran in a beggar costume collecting garbage along the way. Kudos and hats off to you sir Larry!

There have been running events in the past where, sadly, trash piled up on roads because some participants simply throw paper cups or water bottles on the road. This move from “beggarunner” is possibly to raise awareness about care for the environment even during a marathon.
