Halalan2016: People’s Champ Files For Senate Seat

After winning a seat in the house of representatives for two terms, the people’s champ Manny Pacquiao decided to run for a slightly higher office this time.

Before Comelec officially closed the filing of candidacy on October 16, the boxing idol filed his Certificate of Candidacy for a seat in the senate under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

According to reports, Pacquiao will be advocating for quality public education and a comprehensive sports development program if elected.

Pacquiao is the first ever eight-division world champion and was named “Fighter of the Decade” by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
