Hakab Na! was adapted in the Philippines in the participation of the yearly global breastfeeding celebration, The Global Big Latch On happening in the month of August. Hakab in Filipino means “to latch” thus “Hakab Na!” is an invitation for mothers to come together, unified, to latch their babies onto their breasts to promote awareness and normalize breastfeeding. Its goal is to educate and empower mothers and families to breastfeed and to create a breastfeeding nation. Breastfeeding groups and advocates all over the world from within the community host each location, and each year, volunteers in local communities are encouraged to initiate a Hakab Na! in their own cities, municipalities, groups and local communities.

This year 2018, “the dream of hosting a Hakab Na! event in our locality has finally become a reality, but I did not do it alone,” said Tagaytay City Vice Mayor’s Wife, Katrina Ambion, Founder of Tagaytay Moms. Together with her core team of mommy and millennial committee heads, ushers and volunteers, headed by Camille Manalo, Marj Sibayan, Tere Llorente, Roseann Almanza and LA Palo as well as the support of the generous sponsors;
