‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and other Medical Dramas Donate Equipment to Frontliners Fighting COVID-19

Healthcare workers all around the world are experiencing a shortage of medical equipment necessary to protect themselves against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In order to aid the fight against COVID-19, a handful of medical TV shows have decided to donate their on-set medical supplies to those in need.

Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off series Station 19 have donated hundreds of masks, gowns, gloves, and other items used as on-set costuming to local hospitals and medical centers.

Station 19′s donation was sent to the Ontario Fire Department, who had been forced to reuse masks in the wake of shortage.

ABC’s The Good Doctor is similarly donating their supply of masks and medical gear to Vancouver hospitals while NBC’s New Amsterdam is sending its supply of masks, gloves, and gowns to the New York State Department of Health.
