The Grand Tourism Convention (GTC) will be launched on November 15, 2017 at the historical Sison Auditorium, Provincial Capitol Complex, Lingayen, Pangasinan with the theme: “Empowering the Future of Philippine Tourism Towards Achieving a Sustainable World-Class Industry.” The convention is expected to welcome more than 1,000 delegates composed of students, professionals, academicians, tourism officers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and local chief executives of cities and municipalities across the Province.
“As we provide a venue for high-level learning where delegates can get insights and acquired knowledge directly from experts, we are also optimistic that through the GTC we can promote local tourism, propagate our advocacy to promote sustainable tourism highlighting the importance of preserving the environment; and, inspire collaboration to achieve our shared goals,” said Event Producer Mr. Mark AlleisterRoa, Founder and CEO of Makx Excellence Portal (MEP), the first multi-advocacy centered Learning and Development Events Production Company in the Philippines.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) declared this year 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development which makes it the perfect time to launch the GTC, an event series to visit different destinations in the Philippines promoting sustainable and responsible tourism.
The convention is in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, Department of Tourism, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) with WhenInManila.com as the official media partner.
