“The GrabForGood Fund will commence immediate work on meeting the urgent need for COVID-19 vaccines, where it’s not easily available,” said Grab Group chief executive officer and co-founder Anthony Tan.

Eligibility will include if the driver or partner has completed a ride or a delivery on the Grab app within 3 months leading up to the vaccination. Aside from that, the company is also planning an insurance subsidy for drivers and riders. This is on top of their existing program for personal accident insurance coverage, education scholarships, and financial aid for people with disabilities.

The company has allocated up to $20million for the program. “This is in response to the findings from February a 2021 survey which found that an average of 92% of Grab users continue to be worried about the COVID-19 situation”.

They are currently sourcing the vaccines and planning to set up their vaccine centers for rollout.
