Goût de France (Good France): Bringing French Food Closer to the Filipino Heart

In an opening remark by His Excellency Mr. Thierry Mathou Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Philippines in a small gathering at Alliance Francaise de Manille, he shares how he never understood the concept behind fast food, which is a norm here in the Philippines. In France, the ambassador shares, meal time is seen as a time to slow down, relax, and enjoy the company of loved ones.

Which is exactly why Goût de France or Good France was born.

In 2015, Goût de France or Good France was launched by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and chef Alain Ducasse with the purpose of highlighting the culinary tradition of France—one that values quality, innovative, and environmentally responsible cuisine—while promoting France as a prime destination for tourists.
