A Pre-Valentine Concert featuring the San Beda College Alabang Symphony Orchestra (SBCASO) with Manila Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), in cooperation with the Alabang Town Center, Rotary Club of Pasay Southeast District 3810 Philippines, PMCM Events Management and Fusion Media PH, cordially invite you to a night of music played from the heart. This event will support the Values and Vocational Skills Program for the boys’ home, Manila Boys Town Complex. The concert is happening on February 10, 2018, starting at 6:00 pm at Alabang Town Center Main Activity Area, Muntinlupa City.
SBCASO was formerly known as St. Benedict College Band that was founded by Fr. Manuel P. Maramba OSB in 1997. Through the years, the band was able to stage its first annual concert entitled “Finale” at the Insular Life Auditorium in 2007. The new programs of the Music and Arts area continue to develop students’ talents and push more towards new repertoires and art forms with the core of their curriculum, the Benedictine values. Performances under the baton of Mr. Melvin Rioverosin over 10 years keep on getting bigger and better. The annual music concerts lead to a very successful performance in CCP Main Theatre last 2016 where they staged their 10th Annual Music Concert.
At present, the Orchestra produces quality musicians and continuously inspires its own members towards pursuing a musical career and being part of the college and professional orchestras including the De La Salle Orchestra (DLSU), Ateneo Blue Symphony (ADMU), and Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO). Rey Casey Concepcion, one of the SBCASO’s first members and alumnus of the school, pursued music as a career and became the former principal viola of the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO). He is currently the newest member of the world-renowned Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO).
Before SBCA Symphony Orchestra performs a finale in CCP this year, they will serenade you with songs played from the heart that will surely make you fall in love again this Valentine season at Alabang Town Center Mall.
