The Philippine team’s win over Myanmar guaranteed a semifinals slot. Gilas Pilipinas will be facing Indonesia in the crossover semifinals that will commence on Monday.
Indonesia finished Group B with a 2-1 record while Thailand holds a perfect record of 3-0. The Thai team will face Vietnam in the other semifinal match.
Matthew Wright and Marcio Lassiter led the Philippine win with a combined eight three-point shots during the second-quarter offensive. Gilas Pilipinas beats Myanmar with a score of 136-67.
Gilas coach Tim Cone said earlier that team simply tried to find the balance of not embarrassing Myanmar too much while still respecting the game.
