Gigi de Lana’s mother, Imelda de Lana, passed away on May 14. The singer-actress took to social media to share the heartbreaking news.
Her post includes photos of them together. In the caption, she thanked everyone who prayed for her mother.
“Salamat sa lahat ng dasal niyo kay mama. She passed away at 9:19pm May 14, 2024. Mahal na mahal kita mama. Pahinga ka na,” she wrote.
A few days before her mother’s passing, Gigi revealed that her mother was in the intensive care unit (ICU) and requested prayers from the audience during her show in Canada.
In 2023, she disclosed that her mother was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. She even cut her hair short in support of her as she had been undergoing chemotherapy.
The Kapamilya singer also put some of her personal items up for sale to raise funds for her mother’s medical expenses.
