A 115-foot-tall rooster structure in Talisay, Negros Occidental, has made it into the Guinness World Records!
The Guinness World Records recognized the gigantic structure as “the largest building in the shape of a chicken.” It is located at Campuestohan Highland Resort, owned by Ricardo “Cano Gwapo” Tan. Known as the “Rooster Hotel,” the unique establishment features 15 rooms and is set to be inaugurated on October 19.
“The largest building in the shape of a chicken measures 34.931 m (114 ft 7 in) in height, 12.127 m (39 ft 9 in) in width and 28.172 m (92 ft 5 in) in length and was achieved by Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan (Philippines) at Campuestohan Highland Resort in Negros Occidental, Philippines as verified on 8 September 2024,” the Guinness World Records noted.
According to Tan, out of 55,000 applicants this year, only 5,000 were approved, including his rooster-shaped hotel.
He also emphasized that this concept serves as a tribute to Negros Occidentalโs cock breeders, who provided a livelihood for thousands of locals and sustained the province during the sugar industry’s downturn.
