The Government, Academe, Industry Network (GAIN) is a professional organization established in 2017, with the purpose of ensuring the Global Competitiveness of the Philippine Graduates and the Nation’s Workforce through the synergy of initiatives from the Government, Academe, and the Industry.

Since its 1st National Convention in 2018, GAIN’s call to action for the improvement and setting of standards for English Proficiency in the Philippines received an outpouring of support from different industries and was picked up by different media outlets, leading to a Senate inquiry (SRN-622) from Sen. Grace Poe. Also, in 2018, a House Bill 7466 filed “Promoting and Strengthening English as the lingua franca of instruction, commerce and industry” was filed by Hon. Salvador Belaro. The 2nd National Convention last 2019 was also a game-changer as it was attended by prominent guests and delegates, focusing on how Artificial Intelligence and Technological Innovations affect our country’s future as it reshapes the landscape of business and education.

Co-organizing the National English Road Map with the Commission of Higher Education, the 3-day conference held last November 13-15, 2018, headlined by Sen. Pia Cayetano and several CHED Directors, was attended by 100+ University participants, where tangible steps were discussed to further improve English in the Academe.  In 2019, Sen. Pia Cayetano likewise filed Senate Bill 62 titled “An Act Providing for an Educational Roadmap Towards Global Competitiveness and Human Capital Development”. The joint resolution made in GAIN’s 2019 conference on digital literacy and a national qualifications body has made it possible to further push education forward.

This year, GAIN would like to invite government, academe and industry partners to work together to transform local environments into SMART City opportunities with the aim of creating innovation and preparing the next generation of future-ready graduates. Local City representatives will also be invited to hold round table discussions in-order to find collaboration opportunities with different companies and their local cities.
