Stranger Things is the TV phenomenon of the year. Since it premiered last month (all eight episodes were released simultaneously, as is Netflix’s tradition), Rotten Tomatoes gave the series a 94%, saying, “Exciting, heartbreaking, and sometimes scary, Stranger Things acts as an addictive homage to Spielberg films and vintage 1980s television.” It has spawned merchandise, theories, thinkpieces, and careers out of the young stars. In fact, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the show, was one of the featured guests at the recently-held AsiaPOP Comicon in Manila.
For those who haven’t seen Stranger Things and who don’t have the time to see all eight episodes, Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi and Scott Richard Hoying of the YouTube show Superfruit (and the a cappella group Pentatonix) created a three minute run-down of the soon-to-be cult classic.
It’s not exactly an accurate portrayal, but their comedic efforts make this an entertaining watch, even for those who’ve seen the show.
