Demi Lovato is back with her first single “Skyscraper” from the album carrying the same title and it’s been earning praises and raves straight from its release. It’s been getting lots of positive reviews that it’s even become a trending topic on Twitter worldwide! “Skyscraper” has an inspiring message that says, people might try to pull you down but you’ll slowly pick yourself up and rise above them like a skyscraper. Honestly, the message is nothing new, it’s just a breath of fresh air in a music industry dominated by rappers bragging about their fame, fortune, and b*tches.
“This song is so special to me because it’s inspired by my journey and the struggles that I’ve dealt with this past year. I hope people are able to relate to it and realize that they are able to rise above and overcome any obstacle, no matter the circumstances, and shine like a skyscraper,” Demi said on Seventeen blog.
Though she may have achieved a few successes with her acting and singing career, life hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park for Disney star Demi Lovato. In an effort to get her life back together, Demi recently underwent rehab for the issues she has been dealing with lately, like weight issues, her nervous breakdown while she’s on tour with the Jonas brothers, and the incident involving one of her dancers. I believe that with all the trials she’s faced, this song speaks from her heart. This may be the perfect starting-all-over-again song for her! Congrats Demi! When in Manila, please include this song in your concert tour!
Speaking of which, I just added this track to my quarter-life crisis management playlist. How about you? Like it or hate it?
