French National Lost and Begging for Food In Cagayan De Oro Saved by Filipinos

This is a picture of a French man who came to the Philippines but went through a crazy ordeal. The following story below was just translated (very roughly). See what happened to this guy.Â

Lawrence is a French national. He came to the Philippines to see his Filipina girlfriend that he met online. Unfortunately, he was just robbed by this girl. Lawrence says that the girl is from Pagadian City. This girl took all his money and all his belongings. All he was left with was his laptop. Lawrence got on a bus to Cagayan De ro because he was afraid and he did not know what to do. He currently just hangs out outside the Lim Ket Kai Mall in Cagayan De Oro City.Â
Lawrence only lives off of the food that people give him. He begs for money to get through the day. His feet are swollen and wounded. His mind seems to be giving in as well. It seems like he’ll lose his mind if he stays in this condition for any longer. If you speak to him now, he’s still ok, but if his situation does not improve, it might not be for long.Â
Please,whoever is close to that area, help him out in any way you can so he can go back to his country. He’s easy to find. He is usually at the gateway of Lim Ket Kai Mall, outside Jollibee.Â

Laurent (his real name) was able to contact his mother in France. Tomorrow, he’ll be going to Manila to head over to the French embassy. He should be able to go home after he fixes his paperwork.Â
Here’s another twist.Â
His chat-mate from Pagadian City did not rob him.Â
Here’s the real story:
Laurent, according to his mom, is under medication because he has some mental problems. Supposedly, nothing too serious. But they were not able to stop him from traveling to the Philippines.
His chat-mate was actually shocked when he suddenly came to Pagadian. She says that she is not his girlfriend and that they just became good friends in the online world.Â
Laurent lived at the girl’s house for a few days, but he would leave every night at 112 midnight. The family got scared as something might happen to him that late at night in their neighborhood, so they just had him stay at a hotel.Â
But the girl supposedly did not see Laurent as a love interest. She thought they were really just friends.
Laurent eventually lost his luggage, which had all his belongings. His money, gadgets, passport and all.
The girl’s family tried to help find his stuff and fortunately, they were somehow able to find them.
 After a few days, Laurent started to roam further and further around Pagadian. The family assumed that he had met others and that his new contacts may have been the one who stole some money that Laurent’s mother had sent from France because Laurent started to ask for an allowance. Now, all Laurent had with him was his laptop, passport and cellphone. Plus the clothes on his back.Â
After that, the family wasn’t sure what happened to Laurent as he seemed to be lost.Â
Without anyone’s knowledge, Laurent just got on a bus to Cagayan De Oro. And now he’s just there outside the Lim Ket Kai Mall.
Fast forward the story….
An OFW from Singapore saw this story posted. She is from CDO, so she contacted her mom in CDO to help Laurent. Then her mom went to the mall and fortunately, Laurent was there.Â
At first, Laurent didn’t want to go with them because he was scared. Eventually they were able to convince him.Â
They brought Laurent to their house. Fed him, bathed him, then washed his clothes and let him sleep.Â
When he woke up, that’s when they spoke to him. Then they contacted his family in France.
Now, someone else saw this post also from Pagadian who cleared the girl’s name from there.Â
When the original girl from Pagadian heard of this, her family rushed to the OFW’s house in CDO.Â
There was also a Filipina from France who messaged to extend some help. We refereed them to the OFW family.Â
Now….
The original girl, her family, the OFW mom and Laurent met up at a restaurant earlier. The police were there, as well as doctors from the mental health hospitals and people from the embassy. They fixed this whole situation.Â
To make the story short…
Laurent is ok now. He’ll be going back to France soon.Â
His chatmate is not at fault. So lease stop saying bad things about her.
Her neighbors have been saying bad things about her, but it is not true.Â
