Aguilar, who passed away on May 27 at the age of 72, was a veteran OPM hitmaker and singer-songwriter who powerfully captured the collective struggle and dreams of the Filipino people.
His internationally acclaimed hit, Anak, which was released in 53 countries, translated into over 50 languages, and sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, showcased the late singer’s unwavering patriotism and profound storytelling.
In 2010, he was awarded a star on the Eastwood City Walk of Fame, recognizing his significant contributions to the country’s cultural and local music scene. Through this honor, he remains celebrated as one of the most respected icons whose legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
