According toย Kathleen Peddicord, the publisher of theย Live and Invest Overseas siteย and theย Overseas Retirement Letter,ย an approximate of 1.4 million American retirees choosing to settle afterwards overseas because of these two reasons.
Finding a good place to retire can be tough. Forbes came up with a list of “7 Best Places To Retire Around The World”, and Dumaguete, a city in Negros Oriental, is on the list.

According to Forbes, Dumaguete offers one of the best places for beachfront living on the budget. The Retire Overseas Index says that Dumagueteย ย is among the cheapest places in the world to live. The climate is hot and humid, and the area is usually protected against most typhoons. Additionally,ย Dumaguete has the nickname “The City of Gentle People.”

– Chiang Mai, Thailand
– Pau, France
– Medellin, Colombia
Topping the list is Algarve, Portugal. This place is said to be the most affordable option in Europe for retirees whose budget is around US$ 1,500 and want an Atlantic Ocean view on the daily basis. It is also known to offer some of the best beaches in Europe and it has a stable weather.
