The gala night was the perfect way to end the whole-day the event. With unlimited food and great acts from local performances, it was definitely something that everyone enjoyed.

Salad

The Salad

No buffet is complete without green, leafy vegetables for your salad. There was also a number of seasonings and toppings to choose from including vinaigrette, croutons, and cheese.

One of the best things about gala nights and dinner parties is that you always get to try something new. For me, it was the Roast Vegetable Terrine with Parsley Creme Fraiche. This dish is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted and will surely be something I’ll remember for a long time.

I really liked how there was a wide range of food choices served at the buffet. There were vegetables, poultry, and fish so everyone was sure to find something they like. As for me, I liked them all and they all tasted very good.

Dessert

The Desserts: Swiss Carrot Cake, Citrus Cheese Cake with Strawberries, Raspberry Crumble Tart, Banana Tart Tatin, Rich Brandy Chocolate Coffee

When it comes to buffets, I often get really excited to get desserts but I often go home disappointed. The desserts I usually taste either too sweet or they all just taste the same. This is the probably the first time that I actually loved all the desserts I tasted. Good job, Makati Shangri-La!

Manila Mardi Gras Performers

Manila Mardi Gras Performers

I just love performances, especially those that are influenced by other cultures. The Manila Mardi Gras Performers performed a dance number influenced by the Brazilian and other western cultures. There were even moving people on stilts!

You know how when you watch an energetic performance, you start to feel like moving as well? That’s what it was like to watch the Manila Hawaiian performers during their dance number.

I usually see these kinds of performances on TV but watching it live is definitely on a different level. It was really exciting to have all the lights turned off and get to see dancing lights to the beat of your favorite pop hits.

DJ Ron

The rest of the night was filled with EDM thanks to DJ Ron. He played everything from the latest pop hits to the most popular hits of the 80’s, definitely appealing to everyone in the crowd.
