Find out which Star Wars Actor was a US Marine Before Becoming a Master of the Lightsaber

Adam Driver, who plays the villain Kylo Ren in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, has been in Hollywood for a while now, but it can’t be denied that landing this role on Star Wars will be his biggest break yet. But here’s the thing—before Driver became the lightsaber wielding villain he is now, did you know that the actor was once a part of the United States Marine Corps? In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Driver shares that despite enjoying this part of this life, he was discharged from the service after an injury that left his sternum shattered.

This bump in the road seemed to be the start of the actor’s meeting with his destiny, though. Always having a passion for the performing arts, Driver then worked hard to get into the prestigious Julliard School of Performing Arts in New York. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Apparently, he’s turned to the Dark Side since then. :p
