Finch Live in Manila – The Perfect Throwback Thursday Concert with More to Come
Finch may not be the most well-known band right now; but for those people who loved and even worshipped them back in the earlier 2000’s, the Finch Live in Manila concert was the ultimate concert to experience last Thursday – not just because of the Throwback Thursday vibes of their songs, but because we were 100% sure that everyone else in SM North Edsa’s Skydome that night were there to enjoy Finch Live in Manila as much as we were.
Finch Live in Manila began with “Letters to You” and the crowd went absolutely wild, singing/screaming every word with them. With the energy that Finch exuded and brought about from the audience that night, you’d think they never had a hiatus. In fact, it felt like they had just released an album recently, even though their new album isn’t set to come out until a few months from now.
I was incredibly impressed by the energy all around the concert hall and how it felt like Finch has been around all this time. Aside from the instant love felt from the crowd, they even got a bit of a moshpit going. For those oldies or feeling oldies like me, we even got to sit around the bleachers after a while, and get a better view from the back to enjoy the music over beers and feels.
We may no longer be living in an emo generation, but if you are from my generation, then you have to admit that you cannot help but swear a little bit in excitement when you hear a Finch song, turn up the volume and sing/scream your heart out along with them. Every. Single. Time. That is exactly what happened at the concert. Kinda. Kinda coz it was better than that. After all, it was live and everyone around us felt the exact same way as we did.
We can’t wait to hear their new album coming out soon. For now, though, let’s gear up for Bazooka Rocks III, shall we? Who’s excited?
