Allow me to share with you my latest food discovery…
A few days ago, as I was walking along Villongco St beside Commonwealth Market on my way to visit a friend, I couldn’t help but notice this newly built take-out stall. It was far different from the rest because it looked  “sosyal” to see in a local market place area. Pretty much like an “Ayala in Divisoria” type of thing hihihi. I got curious, so I dropped by to check out their menu…
Was curious to know the meaning behind the name Maro and good thing it was well explained in their wall…
The prices were also reasonable  at only P69 (promo price) so I’ve decided to give it a try!
Their solo meals are originally as low as P99! Hmmm not bad!
Good thing I had my camera with me so I was  able to take some shots that day
One thing I like about Maro is that they only prepare your food upon order, making it more clean and safe to eat as compared to the usual carinderias you find on the streets where the the process on how and when the food is made is questionable. As you can see here,  the food preparation area is super clean! I’m glad that they allowed me inside to witness how they prepare my orders…
Their staff  is properly dressed with proper uniforms,  aprons and hairnets to ensure food safety.
So excited to try it!
Chicken Teriyaki (P69) promo price: Grilled chicken in sweet teriyaki sauce topped with sesame seeds. Sauce palang, ulam na! Their atsara on the side also gave it a nice “zing” to the taste buds!
Because I love Bicol Express and spicy dishes in general, I also ordered their Chicken Karaage Express P69 (promo price) :  Tender breaded chicken cutlets in spicy Bicol Express sauce!
Their Homestyle Beef Stew P89 (promo price) is also a winner!
It’s Slow-cooked beef cuts in a hearty broth that is sweet with a hint of spice.
They had a bulk order that day, so I was able to shoot their other dishes…
Chicken Salpicao P69 (promo price) : Stir-fried chicken in sun-dried tomato pesto
Thai Chicken Barbecue P69 (promo price) : Char-grilled chicken breasts in light curry and kaffir flavoured marinade
Fish Fillet in Steak Sauce P69 (promo price) : Breaded fish fillet in sweet steak sauce garnished with white onions
Mild-Spiced Chicken P69 (promo price): chicken chunks tossed in red bell peppers and five spice
They also offer group size meals good for 3 with prices ranging from P149-169 (promo price)
Each order at Maro is placed in these clean and well secured disposable plates..
As their staff handed me my orders, I was even touched with the “thank you” note that came with my order…. how sweet!!
LOVE THE TLC SERVICE!
Then after that, kuya placed them in their very own Maro ecobag. How wonderful!
Aside from delicious tasting rice meals, with Maro, you are always assured that your food is freshly cooked and meticulously prepared. You get affordably priced high quality meals that’s worth every hard-earned peso. Hindi ka mapapahiya and you can be sure that you and your loved ones won’t get sick after eating it.
I love their pagiging – OC with the food preparation. And yeah, the prices at Maro may be slightly higher than the ones in carinderias but personally, I wouldn’t mind paying extra as long as I know that the quality is worth it! Say goodbye to microwaved food with wilty ingredients! I believe this is their 1st branch, so I hope to see more branches around the metro soon!
Again, they’re located along Villongco Street beside Commonwealth Market. So if you’re familiar or living in that area (Fairview, Lagro, Batasan, Filinvest etc) , I highly recommend you visit them!
How to get there: Enter the street (Villongco St.) nearest to the Commonwealth foot bridge. Just walk straight ahead for a minute or 2Â and you’ll see Maro on your RIGHT side.
