As an American living in the Philippines, I found familiar food that made me feel at home and (of course) I bought them. On my birthday, I invited my Filipino friends over to celebrate. They saw a mysterious jar in the refrigerator and wondered what it was. Then the Food Faceoff began.
Back in America, I struggled for my American friends to understand Filipino culture and food… until I found a Filipino market, that is! One thing that I always thought was unique in the Philippines was their pairing of certain foods. Now the Americans can finally try some of Filipino culture. Here is what they thought:
