Filipinos Spent an Average of Php 1,217 on Singles’ Day, 10% Higher than Last Year

According to data collected on November 22, 2019 from Google trends, it shows that the search interest on Singles’ Day has grown by 97% in 2016 and 2019. The 10% increase in online shopping behavior is no surprise as the data keeps growing and growing every year.

iPrice Group, a Malaysian-based information aggregator platform, gathered and analyzed data from more than 100 online merchants & more than 35 million products in the Philippines to reveal the amount spent during Singles’ Day and the product categories Filipinos splurged on the most.

  • Filipinos spent an average of Php1,217 on Singles’ Day, which is 10% higher than the amount spent last year

  • Filipinos spent on Sports & Outdoor and Electronics the most

  • There was an 83% surge in Automotive items and 52% surge in Kids & Toys Items

  • 12.12 is anticipated to be bigger than 11.11

Though many netizens claim that they are single, it is backed up by data that online shopping behavior is most of those that are single. Just in e-commerce website sales alone, a single person is said to be spending at least Php5,000 for a grand sale.
