Filipino-American Dancer-Choreographer Makes History at Coachella

Gushcloud talent and Filipino-American dancer, choreographer, and content creator Aliya Janell choreographed Brazilian singer Anitta’s historic performance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival in California.

Born and raised in the United States to a Black-American father and a Filipino mother, Janell has previously worked with hit artists such as Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, KPop star Hyolyn, and American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. This year, she flew to Brazil to add another pop star to her list. She worked closely with Brazilian singer Anitta on the choreography for her show-stopping debut at the biggest music festival and, previously, with her hit music video “Envolver.”

“It’s been an honor and a dream come true to work with Anitta and other talented artists to create a masterpiece for Coachella. This is not only my first Coachella but it’s also the first time I got to co-choreograph with my husband Tallie so it is very close to my heart. I feel so blessed and feel so grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way. And the best part is, this is just the beginning! I’ve got so many things planned and I’m so excited to share them with everyone,” said Janell.

Famous for her sexy, energetic, and expressive style, Janell is a social media phenomenon with her dance videos earning millions of views and have been reposted by so many of music’s greatest, and an entrepreneur. She created the dance/lifestyle brand Queens N Lettos (QNL) in 2017 where she leads and inspires her “queens” to prioritize self-love through dance.

“Queens N Lettos is a dance class to not only learn a fun routine to the hottest track out but to appreciate and accept one’s self at that point in time. I believe that if my students focus more on their emotions and the feeling of the choreography paired with the song then it could lead to an overall great experience,” she added.

In 2021, Janell started the QNL Apparel so that every man and woman can feel like royalty with the clothing they wear. Her next goal for the QNL brand is to have different certified teachers around the world teaching her style and spreading the same message of self-love and self-empowerment.
It doesn’t end there for Janell. The celebrity choreographer has been working on her debut single and will go on a tour in London, Paris, and Portugal where she will teach masterclasses to her European Queens.

“Aliya has had great success in the Americas and Europe, building her brand and growing as a content creator, and choreographer. Gushcloud is proud and excited to work with Aliya as she continues to pursue her goal of becoming a global talent and a tour-de-force in entertainment,” said Joanne Liew, Chief Studios and Content Officer of Gushcloud International.

With support from Gushcloud’s team of agents, producers, and creatives, Janell is now able to fully connect with her growing fans in Asia. “Fans and followers in Korea and the Philippines can also expect a special treat from Aliya Janell as she is set to visit both countries this year”, concludes Liew.
