Farmers from Benguet are giving part of their harvest to the Taal victims

“Gulay para sa mga kapatid natin sa Batangas,” reads the tarpaulin held up by the farmers in Benguet, all of whom are loading trucks full of vegetables that they sacrificed from their own harvest.

With the help of local police, farmers from Benguet were able to load up trucks with healthy vegetables in the hopes of aiding their Batangueño brothers and sisters. They make this very clear, with the use of the word “kapatid” in their tarp. They view everyone as their family and did what families do–help each other.

And the best part? They’ll be doing another wave after this to keep on sending help over to Batangas. If that doesn’t move you, I don’t know what will.

Thank you, Benguet farmers! You are the real heroes!
