Facebook Is Bringing Back the Option to View Your News Feed in Chronological Order

Facebook is launching a new update that will finally allow users to view their friends’ posts on their news feed in chronological order—something that many people have been clamoring for, for years.

According to reports, Facebook will introduce a new tab on its mobile app called “Feeds” where you can see posts from friends, groups you’re in, and pages you follow according to how recently they were shared. This feature is meant to help people see important and timely posts without completely doing away with the algorithm-powered “Home” which will become “more of a discovery engine for you to find and follow new content and creators through recommendations,” as stated in the official announcement.

This also suggests that the Home tab will soon be filled with Reels and “uniquely personalized” suggested content to combat the popularity of apps like Tiktok.

Previously, Facebook focused on pushing content based on “engagements”—or whether a particular post was getting a lot of comments, likes, and shares, especially by your friends.

Users may expect to see the new feature on their phones beginning next week.
