Evangeline Lilly Shares First Photo in Costume as the Wasp in “Ant-Man and the Wasp”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on a roll. After the success of Spiderman: Homecoming, fans are already looking forward to the next films. Thor: Ragnarok will be the last film in the universe for 2017, but fans are already excited for next year’s lineup, including Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Fans being fans, any news about a Marvel film is exciting so imagine the joy when people saw Evangeline Lilly post a photo of herself in costume on Twitter!

Lilly will return to play Hope van Dyne and the Wasp, Ant-Man’s sidekick in the sequel.

She posted the photo with the caption, “I am honored to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday.”

Jack Kirby is one of the comic book industry’s most prolific creators.

Paul Rudd will return to his role as the titular hero, a thief named Scott Lang who discovers a jacket that shrinks him to the size of the ant. He is aided by Hank Pym, a brilliant scientist who develops a shrinking substance (in the comics, Pym is the original Ant-Man, followed by Lang).

In the sequel, Lang attempts to balance his home life and his hero life. Soon, he is tasked with a new mission and he teams up with the Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

Rudd will star with Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Walton Goggins, Randall Park, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film is directed by Peyton Reed.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will premiere on July 6, 2018. It is currently in production.
