Erik Matti Says That Local Movies and TV Shows are Doomed Because of K-Drama

Erik Matti sure had strong things to say when he watched Netflix.

Upon noticing that many of the Top Ten Most-Viewed Shows on the platform are Korean dramas, he tweeted, “The daily top ten most viewed on #Netflix shows us how our movies and tv are doomed in the future. K-drama galore. Faux cinderella stories with belofied actors whiter than white. And it’s all about love in the midst of this pandemic.”

On today’s Top 10, five are from Korea, including Hi Bye, Mama, Itaewon Class, Crash Landing on You, Fight For My Way, and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?. Two are from the Philippines, which are From the Broken Hearted and Born Beautiful.

Matti is known for his films ng On the Job, Honor Thy Father, Seklusyon, BuyBust, and Kuwaresma. Kuwaresma and BuyBust are available for streaming on Netflix.
