Since 1961, the UP Kappa Phi Sigma-Conservation and Development Society, a duly recognized socio-civic organization from the University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos, has been dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and the conservation of nature towards a sustainable and progressive society inside and outside the UPLB campus.
This year, the organization is set to launch ERA, a local symposium that aims to amplify current Philippine environmental issues. To kick-start an annual tradition, ERA will be introduced to both high school and college students with the theme โMobilizing Local Communities for Environmental Sustainabilityโ this April 21, 2018 at the EE Auditorium of College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology, University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos from 7 A.M. to 2 P.M.
Particularly, ERA 2018 targets to educate local communities on zero-waste management and its crucial role towards environmental sustainability as well as informing the delegates on the state of the Philippine marine environment and the ways we can do to combat marine degradation.
The world has truly evolved through research and technological advancements, but these came with a price of a degraded environment. It is not yet too late to take action and start saving our only home.
Join us at ERA 2018: โMobilizing Local Communities for Environmental Sustainabilityโ and discover how you can promote environmental awareness and the conservation of nature towards a sustainable and progressive society!
