On Sunday, Maine Mendoza wrote an open letter that puts AlDub shippers’ fantasies to rest. She clarified on that post that she and love team partner Alden Richards are just friends. She also contemplated about her showbiz career and requested her fans for “freedom.”

On her open letter, she also expressed how thankful she is to her fans. She thanked everyone including those who express negative comments online.
She also recalled her early days in showbiz, when the AlDub fandom was just starting.
However, she also mentioned that she realized that she was no longer happy, despite the all the blessings that she received. Yet, she is very thankful for everything. Then, she expressed that she wanted to be free and happy. She said that she will forever cherish what she has experienced but now she is asking for freedom.
