Enrique Iglesias has been with former tennis star Anna Kournikova for 16 years — yet he has yet to introduce her to father Julio Iglesias. Awkward!
After Julio revealed in 2014 that he hasn’t met his son’s partner while his wife and children have already met Anna, Enrique has admitted the situation still hasn’t changed three years later.
“They still haven’t met, no. They have to meet at some point,” he said, according to The Sun. The singer added that Anna and his father are rarely in the same country at the same time.
The 42-year-old pop star and the 36-year-old former tennis ace have been dating on and off since 2001, after they played lovers in the music video for single Escape. Rumors of marriage the two have been rife, especially in 2011 when Enrique referred to Anna as his “wife” during a concert and last year, when she was seen wearing a gold band on her ring finger.
Enrique, however, has set the record straight that they have no plans of getting hitched, saying:
“We’re just as happy. There comes a point when you’ve been with someone for a certain amount of time that I believe that you are like, married. I guess the only difference is that we haven’t walked down the aisle.”
