My 10-year-old daughter is very easy to please. No matter what you give her, she’ll thank you and be genuinely happy about it. However, she isn’t the type to really jump up and down when she gets something new. That changed when I surprised her with a chest box from Eli’s Woodshop.
Before the pandemic, Krizzia Aniñon-Hong’s husband attended a woodshop for fun because he always wanted to learn how to make things out of wood. What they didn’t expect was that the pandemic would happen and that this would give him a chance to practice his newfound craft more.
He started by creating a speaker box and made his own set of speakers in a 10sqm space in their garage. How cool is that? When Krizzia saw how good he was getting and how it could turn into more than a passion project, she bought him a table saw for his birthday, and he transferred to the lanai to have more space to work in.
When thinking about trying to sell things online, they thought of creating a chest box for kids to put their toys in or for parents to put memorabilia in. Since Krizzia’s husband is great at drawing and painting, they decided to offer customizable made to order chest boxes, like the one I got for my daughter. She super loves how personalized it is with her name on the lid!
Since my daughter is a huge ‘Toy Story’ fan, I requested for the chest box to look like Andy’s chest box in the ‘Toy Story’ movie, and check out Eli’s Woodshop’s version:
It looks so much like Andy’s box! The only downside is that my daughter now wants to fill it up with the actual ‘Toy Story’ characters. Haha.
Krizzia shares that their idea for the chest boxes was actually inspired by their son Eli; that’s why they named their shop after him. They needed to find a place to store Eli’s toys that would make him excited to play and also clean up his toys afterward.
Since they started, Eli’s Workshop has evolved into other things, as well, including pet stairs, study tables, and plant stands!
The other products that they offer are inspired by their friends and customers who have asked them to customize things for them. “We love a good challenge and we always make sure our customers are in the creation process with us,” Krizzia adds. “We always send photos and updates so they also feel they created the product with us.”
You can order these awesome made-to-order items from Eli’s Woodshop for yourself or to surprise your loved ones. Since every item is handcrafted and made to order, every piece will be 100% unique and made with happiness, love, and respect – perfect for any home. You can get their items delivered via Grab, Lalamove, or Transportify.
