The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority is the first recognized sorority in the UP College of Medicine, in the Philippines, and in Asia. Since its foundation in 1934, it has faithfully upheld its pillars of Sisterhood, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership. The organization has earned the distinction of being included in the Hall of Fame of the Most Outstanding Student Organization in UP Manila, is a recipient of one of Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) in 2009, the Anvil Award for Public Relations in 2010, and the Health Exemplar Award (Organization/Institution Category) by the Health & Lifestyle (H&L) Magazine in 2017.
In line with the sorority’s commitment to scholarship and academic excellence, we will be holding our annual pre-medical quiz show entitled EKG (Excellence, Knowledge, Genius). This inter-university event will serve as an avenue for students from various universities in Metro Manila to test their intellectual prowess, all in the spirit of healthy competition and fun. The quiz show will cover topics on the fields of the Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and General Knowledge. Previous EKGs have been participated in by students from the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University and University of Santo Tomas, among other prestigious universities.
The sorority will conduct this event on March 20, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Buenafe Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Calderon Hall (College of Medicine), UP Manila Campus, Pedro Gil Street, Ermita, Manila.
