Ed Sheeran is back from his year-long hiatus with two new songs, and fans have welcomed him with open arms!
Playing his two new tracks – Castle On The Hill and Shape Of You – on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Ed revealed that Shape Of You was originally written for another star, Rihanna!
Yet the 25-year-old singer-songwriter realized halfway through that the song wasn’t right for the R&B singer, and eventually decided to keep it for himself.
“I started writing lyrics like ‘putting Van the Man (Van Morrison) on the juke box’ and thought ‘she’s not really going to sing that’.”
It’s okay, Ed — that just means there’s more music for your fans to go crazy over!
