Eastwood City brings back its Art Market this June

After setting abuzz the Metro’s art scene last May, Eastwood City is set to bring back its Art Market this month with more colorful surprises for art aficionados!

Following the success of its first edition, which was participated in by more than 20 art groups and galleries and highlighted by musical and live art performances including a portrait sketching and acrylic painting demo from the Father of Art Workshops Fernando Sena, this month’s Art Market set this June 27 – 28 at the Eastwood Mall Open Park will feature more brilliant artworks from young and up-and-coming Filipino artists and more must-see live art activities and performances.

 “The first Eastwood City Art Market proved to be a massive hit among art aficionados and even the artists themselves. This time, we are making the Art Market bigger and more exciting, by bringing in more galleries and artists who will showcase their brilliant works, and more art groups who will showcase their skills and creativity through live art demos and street art performances,” said Megaworld First Vice President and Commercial Division Head Kevin L. Tan.

The two-day art festival, a celebration of Filipino artistry and ingenuity, will showcase an even more diverse array of world-class artworks with over 30 galleries and art groups from different parts of the country set to showcase their finest works of art— from classic paintings to sculptures, arts and crafts, and other handcrafted masterpieces.

Leading the talent-rich roster of artists joining this month’s Art Market is art icon Fernando Sena, who is also set to conduct workshops on pastel painting and portrait sketching. Art enthusiasts can also visit the different booths of the participating art groups and galleries including Somnia Collective.

More unique works of art will also be on display at the Art Market such as the famed wire sculptures by Kish Javier, handicrafts from The Craft Central, scribble art pieces by Ink Scribbler and handcrafted charms and bracelets from Bic Spoke. Doodle enthusiasts can also stop by the booths of Doodle Art Enthusiast and Wee Will Doodle and learn how the art of doodling by witnessing live doodling performances.

Fun and interactive art activities also await guests at the booths of Sunday Paper & Local Wolf, where they can learn how to make their own stamp and design their notebooks, and at Brat Pack, which offers free bag and backpack designing sessions.

All set to light up the art affair are musical performances from today’s hottest up and coming indie bands and thrilling acts by talented street performers including jugglers, poi dancers, magicians and more!

Larger-than-life art installations are also set to greet visitors all over Eastwood Mall Open Park, while another must-see visual art displays are the floor murals, which will be done live by Somnia Collective and different art groups and student organizations.
