I like going to board game hubs but my problem usually is I get so overwhelmed with the boardgames that I just pick the ones that look cool and would be stuck on a game for a period of time. What’s really cool about Dyce n Dyne is that they have G.R.O.s which are Game Relations Officers.
Especially when it’s your first time, you want a game that fits your personality or time. Some people like quick games others want intense games that usually take hours or even days to get into because they have characters and a lot of rules to comprehend. It all depends on your preference and how much time do you have.
My current favorite game at DnD is 7,8,9 which is a simple math game. Yeah yeah, we all frowned at the thought of math no matter how “simple” it deemed to be. But I swear, approach a G.R.O. and have them explain it to you and in 2 minutes you will be engrossed into this competitive firestorm with your friends that you have to clear out your table for anything you can probably break. Never has my blood pumped so vigorously over math! LOL.
You can approach the G.R.O.s anytime. They’re cool and friendly so don’t be shy. If you do ask for any recommendations always tell them what kind of group of people you guys are. I once asked them to recommend me a board game I can buy and take home (Yes they sell board games!) I was buying it for my friend’s birthday and they smiled and asked what kind of a person my friend was and I went on and on about her personality and they smiled joking that “If you can give your friend a perfect board game it means you really know them”
Another thing that I liked about Dyce n Dyne was you can be as noisy as you want to be. Some days I would carry my UNO cards with me when I meet up with my friends and we play it when were in a coffee shop. Sometimes, we get carried away and we don’t notice how our noise was already bothering people but in Dyce n Dyne we could get carried away as much as the next table of friends.
It’s a really nice place to de-stress yourself, When In Manila. Even in the start or middle of the week, it’s a good place to detox yourself from everything so you could re-focus yourself with work or school. I really recommend Dyce n Dyne’s food, games and atmosphere.
